UNDP  Human Resources Analyst – Remote Job, IPSA-9 (AfYWL Fellowship Focus)

 The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is hiring a remote Human Resources Analyst (IPSA-9) to support the African Young Women Leaders (AfYWL) Fellowship Programme under its Talent Acquisition and People Programme (TAPP).

This one-year, fully remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global sustainable development by managing and enhancing early career development initiatives for emerging female leaders.

About the Role

As a Human Resources Analyst, you’ll play a central role in the lifecycle of the AfYWL Fellowship from recruitment to onboarding, and continuous HR support. You’ll also help improve HR processes and coordinate learning and development efforts for fellows placed in various sectors.

Key Focus Areas:
  • Supporting strategic HR planning and policy compliance
  • Managing recruitment campaigns and candidate assessments
  • Administering onboarding, benefits, and HR systems
  • Designing and coordinating professional development opportunities
  • Promoting knowledge sharing and continuous HR improvement
About UNDP & the AfYWL Programme

UNDP is a global leader in sustainable development, operating in over 170 countries. In partnership with the African Union Commission, the AfYWL Fellowship Programme aims to prepare exceptional young African women for leadership roles aligned with the SDGs. The program offers hands-on experience, mentoring, and growth opportunities to fellows across multilateral, public, and private institutions. The upcoming fourth cohort, set for Q4 2025, expects to engage up to 40 fellows from an applicant pool of over 15,000.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Education:

  • Master’s in Human Resources, Public/Business Administration, or related field
  • OR Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years (with a Master’s) or 4 years (with a Bachelor’s) in HR or related field
  • Experience with recruitment and onboarding in international settings
  • Familiarity with UNDP or UN HR systems (especially Oracle Cloud/Quantum) preferred
  • Exposure to leadership development or early talent programs is a plus

Languages:

  • English fluency is required
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish is advantageous

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in HR systems and process improvement
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multicultural teams
  • Client-oriented approach and commitment to excellence
