Rhodes Scholarships University of Oxford, England-2026 Postgraduate Studies for West African students. 

Aspiring young leaders from West Africa have the opportunity to pursue fully funded postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford, England, through three annual scholarships offered in partnership with the Oxford-Morland Graduate Scholarship.

Applications for these prestigious scholarships will be open from June 2, 2025, to August 28, 2025, at 11:59 GMT.

Eligible Countries

Includes: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea‑Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, São Tomé & Principe, and Togo.

  • Scholarship launched in 2017, first awardees arrived October 2018.
  • Available annually for exceptional students from any of the listed countries.
Application Essentials
  1. Check Constituency Eligibility

    • Confirm nationality or citizenship in one of the listed countries
    • If dual‑qualified, may apply via inter‑jurisdictional consideration
  2. Residency/Education Requirement

    • Must have lived in eligible country(ies) for at least 5 of the last 10 years, or apply via inter‑jurisdictional route
  3. Age Criteria (as of 1 Oct 2025)
    • General: born after 1 Oct 2000 and before 2 Oct 2007 (aged 18–24)
    • Medicine, Dental, Law, Engineering: aged 18–25 (born after 1 Oct 1999)
    • Late-degree completion: under 27 and completed first degree after 1 Oct 2024
  4. Academic Qualifications

    • Expected to have (or complete by deadline) a First‑class honours or equivalent which meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of your chosen full-time course at the University of Oxford?
    • Medicine/dental/pharmacy applicants must demonstrate distinction in key subjects
  5. English Proficiency

    • Must meet Oxford’s English language requirement (or qualify for a waiver)
