Important Note for Academic Applicants:
Candidates applying for teaching positions must hold a minimum of a second-class upper division at the undergraduate level. Applicants without a PhD must demonstrate ongoing doctoral studies and teaching or research potential.

Referee Submission Requirement:
Referees must submit confidential reports within one week after the application deadline. These reports should be sent directly to the Registrar, sealed and clearly marked with the applicant’s name and the position being applied for. At least one referee must be from the candidate’s current or most recent employer.

General Requirements

For Academic Staff
  • Professor/Associate Professor
    Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, with extensive experience in teaching, research, and publications.
  • Senior Lecturer

Requires a Ph.D. and a minimum of five years teaching experience, along with at least 8 peer-reviewed publications.

  • Lecturer I & II
    Ph.D. holders or candidates with a Master’s degree and three years teaching experience, with a minimum of three published academic papers.
  • Assistant Lecturer
    Applicants should have a Master’s degree with Ph.D. in progress. Must demonstrate teaching and research capabilities.
  • Graduate Assistant
    Must hold a First Class or Second Class Upper degree. Preference is given to First Class graduates who show promise in teaching and research.
For Non-Academic Staff
  • Administrative Assistant (CONTISS 07)
    A minimum of a second-class lower degree and proven computer literacy.
  • Confidential Secretary II (CONTISS 06)
    Five credits including English, typing skills (50/100 wpm), and an ND or NCE in Secretarial Studies with two years of experience.
  • Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 07)
    Similar to above but requires a Higher National Diploma or 5 years of experience for NCE holders. Proficiency in computer applications is mandatory.
  • Pharmacist (CONHESS 09)
    A B.Pharm or Pharm.D., registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, and one year of post-registration experience.
  • Medical Officer (CONMESS 02)
    MBBS/BDS with valid registration and current practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
  • Nursing Officer I (CONHESS 08)
    B.Sc. Nursing plus RN/RM qualifications and three years of experience. Current practicing license required.
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist (CONHESS/CONTISS 09)

BMLS and license with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.

Junior Staff Positions
  • Senior Driver (CONTISS 03)
    Five credits including English and Math, Class E Driver’s License, and at least four years of experience.
  • Clerical Officer (CONTISS 03)
    Five credits including English in not more than two sittings.
  • Computer Operator III (CONTISS 04)
    Five credits including English and Math, a certificate in computer operation, and practical proficiency in relevant software.
  • Office Assistant II (CONTISS 04)
    At least three credits in relevant subjects.
  • Laboratory Assistant (CONTISS 03)
    National Certificate in Laboratory Assistance with a minimum of four years of experience.
