The Federal Government has officially commenced a nationwide recruitment exercise for four key paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
Starting Monday, July 14, eligible Nigerians can apply for available positions in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).
According to the Ministry of Interior, all applications must be submitted through the dedicated recruitment portal — recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Interested applicants are also urged to visit the ministry’s website for detailed information on eligibility requirements, application procedures, and important guidelines.
This recruitment follows the Federal Government’s recent approval for the enlistment of 30,000 personnel across the four paramilitary agencies. It presents a significant employment opportunity for qualified Nigerians seeking careers in national security and emergency services.

Recruitment Categories & Cadres
Category A: General Duty – Superintendent Cadre
- Superintendent of Corrections, CONMESS 02
- Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine or Surgery (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
- Agency: Nigerian Correctional Service.
- Assistant Superintendent I, COMPASS 09
- Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree (in relevant fields such as Law, Humanities, Social Sciences, etc.).
- Agency: Federal Fire Service only.
- Assistant Superintendent II, COMPASS 08
- Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree or HND from a recognized institution
B: Inspectorate Cadre
- Inspector, CONHESS 06
- Requirement: Registered Nurses (RN), Midwives (RM), or both, with valid registration from relevant bodies.
- Available in Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, NSCDC.
- Assistant Inspector, COMPASS 06
- Requirement: ND in any discipline from a recognized institution.
Category C: Assistant Cadre
- Assistant I (General Duty) – COMPASS 05

- Requirement: Minimum of 4 credits in WASSCE/NECO/GCE including English and Mathematics (not more than 2 sittings).
- Trades included: Motor Driver Mechanics, Auto Electricians, etc.
- Assistant III (Drivers, Operators, Artisans) – COMPASS 03
- Requirement: Trade Test Grade III and 4 relevant credits in WASSCE/NECO/GCE.
General Requirements for All Applicants
- Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
- Age: 18 to 35 years.
- Must be physically and mentally fit.
- Must be of good character with no criminal record.
- Male applicants: Minimum height of 1.65m; Female applicants: Minimum height of 1.60m.
- Chest measurement (men only): Minimum 0.87m.
Note: Multiple applications across different services will lead to automatic disqualification.
