About the Scholarship
Between 2024 and 2030, this program (2025 Arizona State University Mastercard Foundation Innovation and Technology Scholarships) will support 700 young Africans by offering fully funded graduate degrees, both online and in-person.
It also includes English language training and certificates in fields like global management and supply chain management. ASU wants to prepare Africa’s future leaders for success in today’s fast-changing world.

Study at ASU with Full Financial Support
This scholarship is a partnership between ASU and the Mastercard Foundation. It will provide 160 graduate scholarships from 2025 to 2030. Scholars will study online at ASU while getting in-person academic and career support from Kepler College in Rwanda.
The Fall 2025 intake will select 40 scholars for graduate programs in Global Technology and Development, Business Analytics, Learning Design and Technologies, Information Technology, and Sustainable Engineering. Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be an African citizen committed to ethical leadership and community service.
- Be between 18 and 33 years old.
- Have an undergraduate degree by July 2025.
- Show strong leadership skills and academic excellence.
- Not have started or completed a graduate degree before August 2025.
- Live in Kigali, Rwanda, during the program.
What the Scholarship Covers
This fully funded program includes:
- Full tuition fees and textbooks.
- On-campus housing and a living stipend.
- Visa application fees and English test costs.
- Round-trip airfare to Kigali, Rwanda.
- Medical insurance.
- Mentorship, leadership training, and networking events.
