Role Summary
As the Renewable Energy Digital Communications Officer, you’ll join CAN’s dynamic international communications team to amplify global narratives around clean energy. Your work will support the Platform of Action for Renewable Energy and the Big Shift Global Campaign, which champions divestment from fossil fuels and investment in renewables.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Strategy & Content: Co-create and execute digital strategies showcasing renewable energy success stories, especially in the Global South.
- Messaging & Planning: Draft compelling messages and campaign plans focused on clean energy and public development banks.
- Media Outreach: Build and manage a global media contact list, track coverage, and maintain editorial calendars.

He/ She must possess the following
- Campaign Communications: Support communications during high-level political events and energy-related summits.
- Network Collaboration: Engage with CAN’s global members to strengthen communications efforts and co-organize campaign initiatives.
- Website & Tools: Help enhance CAN’s digital platforms and contribute to online fundraising initiatives.
- Team Support: Assist the broader communications team with cross-functional projects as needed.
What You Bring(Criteria)
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in digital media, communications, or journalism—ideally with a focus on renewable energy or climate issues.
- Skills:
Excellent writing and visual storytelling abilities.
Strong grasp of digital platforms, graphic tools (Photoshop, Canva), and collaborative tools (Slack, MS Office).
Ability to simplify complex topics and manage multiple projects with ease. - Knowledge: Understanding of climate finance, public banks, or renewable energy is a strong asset.
- Languages: Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
- Tech Tools: Familiar with platforms like Mailchimp, WordPress, and social media schedulers.
