About the MTN Foundation Scholarship 2025
Since its inception in 2010, the MTN Scholarship Scheme has remained a cornerstone of MTN Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment. The program supports academically excellent students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.
A special arm of the scheme, introduced in 2012, caters to visually impaired (blind) students in 200 and 300 levels across Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
- 300 students receive ₦300,000 annually until graduation (subject to maintaining grade requirements).
- 60 blind students are awarded ₦200,000 annually throughout their studies.
- Top 10 UTME scorers (as announced by JAMB) automatically receive scholarships from 100 level to graduation, provided academic performance is sustained.
Eligibility Criteria for MTN Scholarship 2025
There are two main categories under the MTN Foundation Scholarship:
1. MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)
- Open to 300 level students in public tertiary institutions.
- Eligible disciplines include Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Requirements:
- Universities/Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper).
- Polytechnics: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) from OND, and must have gained admission into the HND program.
- Direct Entry students must have an OND CGPA of at least 3.0 and be admitted into 300 level in a public university.
2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)
- Open to 200 & 300 level visually impaired students in public tertiary institutions.
- Law students (5-year program) are only eligible in 300 level.
Requirements:
- Universities/Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 2.5.
- Polytechnics: Minimum CGPA of 2.0 from OND and admission into the HND program is required.
Each year, a minimum of 500 students benefit from scholarships worth ₦300,000, covering tuition, books, and living expenses.
