Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Hyundai Motor Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be an African national currently residing in Africa.
- Apply as an international fee-paying student.
- Be enrolling in a Master’s, MPhil, or PhD program for the 2025/26 academic year.
- Demonstrate academic excellence through references and transcripts.
- Hold a first-class (or equivalent) undergraduate degree for MA programs.
- Hold a Master’s degree with distinction for MPhil/PhD programs. (Applicants with a 2:1 may apply but will not be prioritized.)
- Have applied to SOAS University of London (receiving an admission offer by the scholarship deadline is not required).
- Meet SOAS’s English language requirements, if applicable.
Scholarship Benefits
Master’s Students:
Full tuition coverage
Any remaining balance from the total award of £27,730 will be provided as a stipend to support living costs.
PhD Scholars:
Full tuition coverage for three years + additional funding for the fourth-year writing-up fee.
An annual stipend of £22,780, disbursed in termly installments.
