The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is offering its Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship Program as part of its commitment to human resource development in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
The NDDC Postgraduate (Master’s) Scholarship program seeks to provide young individuals with specialized training and skills to enhance their participation in the Federal Government’s local content programme and equip them for global competitiveness in their respective fields.

Eligible Disciplines For the NDDC Postgraduate (Master’s) Scholarship
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in one of the following fields:
- Agricultural Sciences
- Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Geosciences
- Information Technology
- Medical Sciences
- Law
- Architecture
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for this scholarship, candidates must:
- Be indigenous to the Niger Delta Region
- Have a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division Bachelor’s Degree
- Be 40 years old or younger
Application Process
- Online Application: Submit applications via the NDDC website: www.nddc.gov.ng
- Preliminary Shortlisting: Based on academic qualifications, WASSCE/NECO results, and Local Government identification.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Conducted in Rivers State, candidates must score at least 70% to proceed.
- Final Selection & Verification: Shortlisted candidates will undergo further screening at the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC) level.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following documents along with their online application:
- Recent passport photograph
- Local Government Identification Letter
- Postgraduate admission letter from a recognized overseas university.
- Bachelor’s degree certificate
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate
Upon successful submission, a registration number will be generated. Candidates should print and retain a copy of their acknowledgment slip for future reference.
Deadline for Applications
Applications must be submitted on or before April 21, 2025 (4 weeks from the first publication on March 24, 2025).
Important Notes
- The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the NDDC website.
- The Commission will not engage with applicants who do not make it past the CBT or final selection process.
- Preference will be given to candidates from oil-producing host communities who meet the required criteria.
- Deferment, change of institution, or course is not allowed once the scholarship is awarded.
