About the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at KNUST

The scholarship is a collaboration between KNUST and the Mastercard Foundation (Canada) with the goal to equip young Africans with quality education, leadership training, and career opportunities.

The program also seeks to train 2,250 scholars over 15 years, shaping future leaders dedicated to community transformation.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

  •  Hold a valid WASSCE, GBCE, ABCE, GCE O’Level, A’Level, or an equivalent qualification (results must be less than five years old)
  • Meet KNUST’s admission requirements
  •  Demonstrate significant financial need
  •  Show leadership skills and a strong commitment to community service
  • Not be enrolled in any other tertiary institution
Priority will be given to:
  • Female applicants
  • Displaced individuals (refugees, internally displaced persons, etc.)
  • Persons with disabilities
  •  Students dedicated to the “Go-Back & Give-Back” principle, contributing to their communities after graduation
