Program Details
The scholarship program is established through a strategic partnership between The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and has supported over 150 scholars since its inception in 2012.
The initiative also contributes to solving global water and sanitation issues by increasing the number of highly trained professionals who can implement effective solutions in developing regions.
Scholarships are awarded annually to students enrolled at IHE Delft’s campus in the Netherlands.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the 2025 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship, applicants must do
- Secure academic admission to the IHE Delft Master’s Program in Water and Sustainable Development under one of the following thematic tracks:
- Water and Health
- Water, Food, and Energy
- Water Resources and Ecosystems Health
- Water Hazards, Risks, and Climate
2. Be interviewed and selected by a local Rotary Club
3. Have their application endorsed and submitted by a sponsoring Rotary Club to the Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee
4. Maintain communication with their sponsoring Rotary Club throughout their studies
5.The scholarship funding will also be processed through Rotary’s Global Grant program.

Application Process (Step-by-Step Guide)
You must follow these steps to apply for the 2025 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship:
- Apply for admission to the IHE Delft Master’s Program in Water and Sustainable Development by April 1, 2025.
- Locate your nearest Rotary Club early in the application process.
- Complete the application form with the assistance of your sponsoring Rotary Club.
Also, applicants must do the following:
- Submit the completed form—the Rotary Club will forward your application to the Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee in the Netherlands by April 15, 2025.
- Await selection results—successful candidates will be notified by May 15, 2025.
- Wait for Final approval—pending formal endorsement by The Rotary Foundation on July 1, 2025.
