University of Twente Scholarship Details

The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is designed for excellent students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries who are applying for a Master’s degree program at the University of Twente.

This scholarship aims to:

• Recognize and support top-performing international students.
• Offer participants access to one of three prestigious honours programmes — Research Honours, Design Honours, or Change Leaders.
• Build a global community of innovative and socially responsible graduates.
• Awardees receive between €3,000 and €22,000 for one academic year. For two-year programs, recipients may qualify for a renewal upon meeting specific performance requirements.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the University of Twente Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

• First apply and gain conditional admission into a Master’s program at the University of Twente.
• Possess a valid student number issued by the university.
• Not have previously graduated from a program at the University of Twente.
• Meet the entry visa requirements for the Netherlands (if applicable).
• Demonstrate strong English proficiency:
  • Minimum IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT 90) overall, with at least 6.0 (TOEFL 20) in speaking.
• Belong to the top 5–10% of their graduating class academically.
• Be ineligible for a Dutch study loan.

Duration and Benefits

• Scholarship value: Between €3,000 and €22,000 per year.
• Funds can be used to cover tuition, accommodation, or living costs.
• For two-year programs, renewal is possible if the recipient:
  • Achieves a minimum average grade of 7/10 by the end of the third quartile of Year 1.
  • Completes at least 50% of ECTS credits by that period.
• Additional scholarships may be available for students beginning in September 2026.
