Scholarship Details
The Graduate Research Assistantship is offered through the School of Natural Resources at the University of Missouri under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Knapp (Associate Professor of Silviculture).
The research project will focus on oak woodland restoration in north-central Pennsylvania, involving large-scale field experiments to evaluate the impact of restoration treatments such as:
- Prescribed burning
- Herbicide application
- Mastication
- Timber harvesting
- Deer fencing
The study will also analyze how these treatments influence plant communities, tree regeneration, fire behavior, and long-term woodland management.
