- Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and back after studies
- Monthly stipend:
- £1,452 outside London
- £1,781 within London metropolitan area
- Warm clothing allowance (if applicable)
- Study travel grant for academic-related trips within the UK or abroad
- Child allowance for eligible single parents:
- £622/month for the first child
- £154/month for the second and third child (under 16)
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 2026 Commonwealth Masters Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen or refugee of an eligible Commonwealth country (or a British Protected Person)
- Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
- Be ready to begin studies in the UK by September 2026
- Hold a first degree of at least Upper Second-Class (2:1) Honours, or a 2:2 with a relevant postgraduate qualification
- Demonstrate financial need (unable to afford studies in the UK without this scholarship)
- Provide all required supporting documents before the deadline
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare the following documents:
- Academic qualifications (undergraduate and postgraduate)
- Up to 10 publications or awards (if applicable)
- Employment history and its relevance to the chosen program
- Development Impact Statement (covering global/national issues, application of skills, expected outcomes, and measurement of impact)
- Career plans (short-term and long-term)
- Personal statement (up to 500 words) highlighting leadership, voluntary activities, and barriers overcome
- Contact details of three referees, including one current employer (if applicable)
- Copy of valid passport or national ID

The scholarship runs for the full duration of a Master’s program at participating UK universities, typically one year. Fields of study are aligned with CSC development themes, covering areas such as:

How to Apply (Step by Step)
Follow these steps to apply for the 2026 Commonwealth Masters Scholarships:
- Applications must be submitted via the CSC’s online application system.
- The portal opens on September 2, 2025 and closes on October 14, 2025.
- Apply through a nominating agency (you cannot apply directly to CSC).
