 About Ontario Graduate Scholarship

The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST) promote academic excellence across Ontario’s publicly funded universities.

The Ontario government and participating institutions co-fund the scholarships, covering two-thirds and one-third of the award value, respectively.

Students from any country can apply, provided they meet the eligibility requirements and gain admission to one of the participating institutions.

 Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the 2025/26 Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Canada, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a full-time master’s or doctoral program for a minimum of two academic terms (21–52 weeks).
  • Apply to or be studying at one of the eligible Ontario universities.
  • Meet the academic excellence criteria set by your institution.
  •  Submit your application through your institution’s official OGS portal.
  • Apply separately if you’re seeking admission to multiple institutions.
 Scholarship Value and Duration

$10,000 – for 2 consecutive academic terms
$15,000 – for 3 consecutive academic terms

Each award covers a minimum of 1 academic year and a maximum of 2 years (up to 6 consecutive terms). The actual award amount depends on your program’s duration and your university’s funding policies.
