Fellowship Details:
- This fellowship is aligned with the Africa CDC’s Vaccine R&D and Vaccine Manufacturing Competency Frameworks.
- It is specifically designed to build high-level competencies among staff of active biomanufacturing companies.
- Participants will also receive training in leadership, mentorship, management, enterprise resource planning, and entrepreneurship.
- Participants are not required to resign from their current roles but must be available for short-term travel for various training sessions.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of an African Union Member State.
- Be employed by a vaccine manufacturing company based in an African Union Member State.
- Hold a valid passport.
- Commit to completing both virtual and in-person training sessions.
- Obtain a leave of absence from their employer as needed.
- Provide a letter of support from their employer.
Fellowship Benefits:
Successful fellows will receive:
- Daily subsistence allowance during training travels
- Return airfare to training destinations
- Travel and health insurance coverage
- Provision of a laptop and internet allowance
- Visa application fee reimbursement
- Post-fellowship support allowance
Eligible Fields of Study:
Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in one of the following or closely related fields:
- Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Biochemical Engineering
